Reverend Thomas Anthony Keys

Pastor - Teacher

The Reverend Thomas A. Keys has been preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ since 2001. He has served as a senior associate minister at the Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church in Harrisburg, PA and is known throughout the Central Baptist Association of Pennsylvania (CBA) and other socio-Christian circles for his passionate and theologically sound preaching, teaching and consummate commitment to spread the Gospel through effective ministry and practical application of the Word of God.

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Reverend Keys relocated to Harrisburg in 1994 to accept a position with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In the same year, he joined the Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church, where he has served faithfully for 20 years. He was licensed to preach the Gospel in 2000 and ordained in 2001 under the pastorate of the Reverend Dr. Alfred E. Smith.  Reverend Keys has dedicated himself to serving the pulpit and the pew with a spirit of integrity and ecclesiastical excellence. Prior to becoming the Pastor of The Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church of Harrisburg, he served Goodwin in the capacities of Senior Associate Minister, Pastor of Evangelism, Associate Pastor of Service & Support Ministries, Director of the Young Adult Ministry, Clergy & Congregational Worship Leader and Adult Sunday School Teacher.

In 2010, Reverend Keys was called to serve as the Interim Pastoral Assistant for the Zion Baptist Church, Reading, PA. He has served extensively within the Central Baptist Association of Pennsylvania as the former Director of Christian Education for more than 25 churches, and as a faculty member of the Pennsylvania Congress of Christian Education. Pastor Keys currently serves the CBA as the Area Moderator for the Harrisburg/Steelton Churches as well as the Director of Home Missions.

Reverend Keys graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, GA. He has attended Lancaster Bible College and is actively pursuing his Master of Divinity degree at Palmer Theological Seminary in King of Prussia, PA.

Reverend Keys is employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with 20 years of combined service in the Departments of Insurance and Labor & Industry. His passion and love for the people of God and high regard for the Word of God has presented him with opportunities to minister in various Christian and community venues at the local, regional and state level. Holding unswervingly to the principles found in Matthew 28:19-20 and Luke 4:19, Reverend Keys believes that he has been raised up for such a time as this to equip, encourage and empower the Body of Christ and to preach and proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Reverend Keys is married to the former Kirsten Nicole Harris, who also serves as Associate Minister, and President of the Women’s Ministry.
