About Us

On November 14, 2014, a group of 16 believers met to discuss spiritual matters. We came to realize the importance of continuing to grow and mature spiritually with the freedom to worship God in spirit and in truth. We were seeking to: (1) increase our knowledge and understanding of God’s word; (2) increase our practice of Christ-like qualities; and, (3) increase our faith and trust in God. In essence, we were seeking to be Christ-like in our interactions with one another, our families and our community. Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church was born out of those beliefs. On December 5, 2014, Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church was incorporated.

 

We called Rev. Thomas A. Keys as inaugural Pastor Solid Rock. On January 4, 2015, we held our first worship service. On February 1, 2015, we held our first baptism. On March 22, 2015, we held our first baby dedication. On October 2, 2016, we moved a temporary building at 8000 Derry Street. In December 2016, SRMBC purchased 4.6 acres of land at 2400 Locust Lane in the Edgemont section of Susquehanna Township in suburban Harrisburg. On March 18, 2023, Solid Rock dedicated the new facility to our God -- praying for His blessing and anointing to serve as a beacon to the community!

On January 18, 2025, the congregation of Solid Rock elected Rev. Toni L. Scott, after a long tenure of pastoring from Rev. Keys. As our church enters this new season, we know God has blessed us immeasurably. We are free to worship Him in spirit and in truth!
